Thus, began their journey to offer this staple to those wishing to bring the traditional flavors of Venezuelan culture to their home. Thicker than a tortilla, arepas are made from a pre-cooked cornmeal flour called Masarepa. They’re lightly cooked in a griddle until crispy on the outside yet still soft on the inside. Arepas are then filled or topped after cooking.

Flowers Foods, producer of Nature’s Own, Dave’s Killer Bread, Wonder, Tastykake, and other bakery foods, has announced organizational structure changes designed to increase focus on brand growth, product innovation, and improving cake business operations.
Flowers Foods, producer of Nature’s Own, Wonder, Tastykake, Dave’s Killer Bread, and other bakery foods, today announced that it has temporarily stopped production at its bakery in Savannah, Georgia due to an increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases within its production staff and in the number of those self-quarantining. The bakery’s shipping, engineering, sanitation, and office teams continue to work at the facility, but 115 production employees have been furloughed. Flowers will pay furloughed production employees and ask those employees to shelter-in-place until the bakery resumes production.

Flowers Foods, producer of Nature’s Own, Dave’s Killer Bread, Wonder, Tastykake, and other bakery foods, reported financial results for the company’s 16-week first quarter ended April 18, 2020. Sales increased 6.8% to $1.349 billion, including an estimated 6.5% to 7.5% increase attributable to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sales for the same 16-week period in 2019 were 1.263 billion.

Global bakery manufacturer and ingredients supplier Dawn Foods announced today it has entered into an agreement to sell its North American frozen manufacturing business to Rise Baking Company. This strategic business decision allows Dawn to focus on its core ingredients business, concentrate its investment and execution on delivering growth and product innovation across its ingredients portfolio, and continue to serve customers who look at Dawn every day as North America’s leader in bakery ingredients. The agreement will expand Rise Baking Company’s strategic North American manufacturing footprint and baked goods product portfolio.
