Corner Office: Kraft freezes exec pay; new COO at Chicago Meat Authority

CORNER OFFICE: Reuters reported that Kraft Foods Inc., Northfield, Ill., will freeze the 2009 salaries of CEO Irene Rosenfeld and 18 other top officials -- although all other employees will be eligble for pay increases. . . .  Chicago Meat Authority, a wholesale meat processor and foodservice supplier, said it hired branded foods marketing veteran Tom Perlstein as chief operating officer. Perlstein most recently was senior vice president of marketing and direct store delivery at ConAgra Foods Inc.
