ADM opens cocoa plant

Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) announced that it has opened a new cocoa processing plant in Hazleton, Pa. The approximately 500,000 square-foot facility sits on a 74 acre site. Construction on the plant, which will process chocolates, cocoa liquor, cocoa butter and cocoa powder, began in September 2006. Decatur, Ill.-based ADM said that the Hazelton plant will serve chocolate manufacturers and food processors in the confectionery, bakery, dairy and beverage industries.
