Dairy giant Saputo Inc., Montreal, Quebec, said it expects by July 20, 2009 to purchase F&A Dairy Inc., a Newman, Calif., processor of mozzarella, provolone and whey products for an undisclosed amount.
F&A employs 113 people. It produced approximately 60 million pounds of cheese last year with calendar year 2008 sales of about $140 million.
Saputo said the deal will "complement" and build its Saputo Dairy Products Division (USA).
