Wells Dairy changes name

Having previously sold its refrigerated milk and yogurt businesses, Wells' Dairy, Le Mars, Iowa, told area media that the company legally changed its corporate name to Wells Enterprises Inc.
The move is intended to better reflect Wells' current product mix of Blue Bunny ice cream and frozen novelties, said company spokesman Dave Smetter.
Said company officials, "The new name continues to reflect the family ownership of the company, but eliminates the element of 'dairy,' which we recognized added confusion due to its connotation of fluid milk processing or even a dairy cattle operation."
