Stefano Foods Flatbread Melts

Who says the deli doesn't deliver? Helping its customers keep pace with the freezercase, Stefano Foods Inc. added flatbread melts to its deli products line.

A unit of Smithfield Foods, Stefano, Charlotte, N.C., says these new sandwiches are made with quality meats, 100 percent real cheese and fresh vegetables. The 6.75-ounce melts are available in four flavors, including Southwest Beef, Chicken Broccoli, Chicken Club and Three-Meat Italian.

Officials say the product is designed for convenient microwave heating. The sandwiches come packaged in pre-labeled black plastic clamshells and shipped frozen for refrigerated merchandising.

Suggested retail price is $3.99 per unit.
