Unilever North America, Englewood Cliffs, N.J., owner of the infamous Popsicle brand, unveiled its newest creation-Yosicle, a marriage of Popsicle pops and creamy yogurt.
"We're always searching for exciting new flavors to present to our Popsicle fans," says Brian Critz, senior brand manager for Popsicle. "We know families enjoy the tastes of yogurt and Popsicle, so we combined the two flavors to create a unique Popsicle experience that they can share together."
Yosicles come in three unique shapes, contain 10% non-fat yogurt, are an excellent source of calcium per two-pop serving and come in the following varieties:
• Torpedo! features three flavors in one low-fat, creamy pop: Purple Berry, Watermelon and Vanilla.
• Layerz! feature two flavors per low-fat pop and are made with flavored ice on the top and creamy yogurt on the bottom. They come in Cotton Candy & Vanilla and Orange & Vanilla kinds.
• Duos! feature creamy yogurt on the inside with flavored ice on the outside. These low-fat pops have two flavors on each stick and are available in two variety boxes: Watermelon-Vanilla and Cotton Candy-Vanilla or Purple Berry-Vanilla and Cherry-Vanilla.
Yosicle pops can be found in grocery stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.99.
In addition, the Popsicle brand partnered with the Sour Patch Kids brand, produced by Kraft Foods, Northfileld, Ill., to bring Popsicle Sour Patch Kids ice pops. Designed to replicate the Sour Then Sweet taste combination, each ice pop contains a sour ice shell and a sweet ice center. They come in single-serve sizes in Lime, Raspberry and Orange flavors.
