Eco-Friendly Refrigerants for 2-Stage Reciprocating Compressors

BITZER, Flowery Branch, Fla., introduced new refrigerants approved for 2-stage reciprocating compressors.

The R448A and R449A refrigerants boast low global warming potential (GWP) values of 1386 and 1397, respectively, making them eco-friendly alternatives to R404A.

Tests show that the technically improved compressors can be run perfectly with the two refrigerants, both with and without a liquid subcooler.
