Yaya’s Garden, maker of frozen plant-based and Mediterranean entrées, is launching into Whole Foods markets nationally and in Central Market stores. Each entrée is inspired by the recipes of the brand’s Greek matriarch and grandmother, Yaya, offering shoppers fresh, bold and unique flavor profiles paired with a convenient frozen format.
Four entrée SKU’s, Pastitsio, Gemista, Moussaka and Melitzana, launch at an SRP of $6.99 in Central Market. The Pastitsio and Gemista varieties will launch in Whole Foods markets this summer with the promise to deliver more quality and value than traditional frozen entrées.
All-natural, non-GMO ingredients and powerful plant-based protein come together to offer families the opportunity to experience authentic Greek vegetarian cuisines in a new way with Yaya’s Garden. The brand’s passion to bring handmade, healthy, adventurous meals is demonstrated in each of its ten entrée varieties. Of the vegetarian options launching in Whole Foods, Moussaka is a rich, Greek casserole, while Pastitsio represents a luscious Greek lasagna. The remaining entrées – all vegan – include Melitzana, the brand’s take on a Greek, baked eggplant dish, and Gemista, a Greek take on the stuffed pepper and tomatoes.
“We’re really excited about the possibilities our new Mediterranean entrées bring to frozen food shoppers,” shares Collin Tuthill, President of Royal Food. “Consumers can now satisfy their need for convenience and a strong desire to break from the ordinary with premium, delicious and authentic Greek cuisine.”
Yaya’s Garden’s new line continues to position the company as the premium quality leader for frozen entrées in the eyes of today’s worldly, educated, and discerning shopper. The brand also offers soup varieties at an SRP of $4.99 and side dishes at an SRP of $5.99, all touting the same qualities consumers love: All-natural, without GMO’s, vegetarian and loaded in not only plant-based protein, but also handmade quality families can see and taste… just like Yaya would have made.
About Yaya’s Garden
In 1910, Yaya turned her backyard garden’s sun-plumped bounty into nourishing homemade meals, using simple family recipes that let the freshness of the ingredients shine through. Over a century later, her grandchildren carry on her legacy and love for traditional Greek flavors with a delicious lineup of nutritious, satisfying entrees made from pristine veggies grown in the Pella, Crete, and Thessaloniki countryside. The brand boasts both plant-based and vegetarian lines, all of which are Non-GMO as well. Yaya’s Garden’s plant-based Mediterranean meals are positioned as the undisputed premium quality leader in the frozen entrée section.
