Manna Tree has announced it is leading a $18mm Series D funding round for the disruptive platform Urban Remedy, the omni-channel, ultra-fresh provider chilled ready-to-eat meals, snacks, cold-pressed juices, and more. Through a proprietary ERP system, Urban Remedy cracked the code on profitable ultra fresh food (i.e. shelf life of one week, often less).
From there, Urban Remedy has strategically grown across the U.S., first starting as brick and mortar locations in the San Francisco area and eventually growing to an online platform, then building out first-of-its kind kiosks and mini locations within grocers like Whole Foods and, launching this summer, Safeway.
The partnership will consummate Urban Remedy and Manna Tree’s shared goal of re-thinking 'Big Food,' by providing convenient, nutrient-dense foods to consumers everywhere through Urban Remedy’s various distribution points. Joining in the round are existing partners Builders Fund and Obvious Ventures.
