Buitoni and Impossible Foods teamed up to create the plant-based meat company’s first ravioli in two flavors.
Found in the refrigerated pasta aisle, the Buitoni ravioli comes in two varieties – Impossible beef and Impossible Italian Sausage, both featuring a three-cheese blend of ricotta, grana Padano and parmesan.
The new ravioli will initially roll out in select grocery stores nationwide, including Publix, Sam’s Club, and Hannaford, with additional retail expansion in 2022.
The two new refrigerated ravioli varieties are not exclusively vegan, a model of balance that is gaining popularity to suit the needs of flexitarian families. Both new items feature the same quality ingredients Buitoni and Impossible Foods are known for, including exceptional flavor.
Buitoni, known for its refrigerated pastas, is experiencing record growth and the refrigerated pasta category has exploded in the past two years. The company has launched nine new items in the past 18 months (all amidst a Covid backdrop) and is now entering new territory with Impossible Foods to meet consumers’ interests in functional plant-based meat products.
Buitoni and Impossible Ravioli contain no rBST cheese, animal hormones or antibiotics and are a good source of protein with 13g per serving. Both varieties are available in 9-ounce packages for an SRP of $6.99.
