FreezPak Logistics, a third party food logistics (3PL) company, announced the opening of a new location in Philadelphia. The company first expanded into the Philadelphia market in June, 2021.
The new facility, owned and operated by FreezPak, will offer cooler and frozen temperature zones in over 165,000-square-feet of space. This seven-acre site has 20 loading docks, 30 trailer parking stalls with container plug-ins and 60 car parking spaces with a cooler dock boasting 26,802-square-feet. FreezPak Philadelphia will have a 75-foot building height for the freezer and 30-foot building height for the cool dock. Consistent with FreezPak’s other facilities, the location will offer cross docking, transportation, repacking, overseas container plug in, USDA and FDA, all within proximity to Packer Avenue Marine Terminal and Interstate 95.
“FreezPak is committed to building out a national warehouse network. The unveiling of our new state-of-the-art cold storage facility in Philadelphia only solidifies that commitment,” said Dave Saoud co-CEO.
The new ASRS system brings FreezPak’s robotic fleet to 87 robots that can automatically store and retrieve goods. The facility anticipates 50 new jobs and is projected to open in July.
The latest facility adds to the roster of future locations for FreezPak as they continue to build a national infrastructure. By the first quarter of 2024, FreezPak plans to have approximately 310,000 pallet positions.
