Cleveland Cold Storage is on its way to full operations later this summer, offering a wide range of frozen storage and distribution options for local, regional and national shippers.
The $40-million project will modernize a once a blighted neighborhood by bringing a much-needed temperature- controlled food logistics hub to the region with its new 156,000-square-foot cold storage facility. The cold storage facility will feature 122,000 square feet of -10 degree freezer space, a 20,000-square-foot 34-degree cold dock, and 10,000 square feet of dry storage for multi-customer use.
Additional features include ALTA refrigeration penthouse units, 36-foot clear height, 16 dock positions, and office space.
There will be 15,000 freezer pallet positions.
Located along the Opportunity Corridor, the freezer will act as a public refrigerated warehouse and will provide its customers with a full range of frozen distribution services. With quick and easy access to Interstates 77 and 90, Cleveland Cold Storage will service customers from around the corner, around the region and around the world.
Cleveland Cold Storage can distribute and deliver smaller frozen shipments through pool consolidation on a scheduled basis helping local and regional companies grow their business in highly efficient ways.
“Cleveland Cold also has an inbound logistics program where we offer pool distribution services to support retail grocers and foodservice distributors with their seasonal, promotional, and daily fulfillment needs,” said Nick Pacitti, head of sales for Cleveland Cold Storage.
The Cleveland Cold Storage project comes in response to a major need for cold storage distribution space in the local market and beyond. Northeast Ohio is home to a multi- billion-dollar food processing industry, with nearly 20 food processing companies located within close proximity to the project site alone.
