POULTRY BRIEFS: Joe S. Hatfield, a co-founder ofFieldale Farms Corp., Baldwin, Ga., died Saturday, June 21, following a brief illness. Hatfield, 84, served as president and CEO until the time of his death. He co-founded Fieldale in 1971 after joining brothers Lee and Tom Arrendale in the purchase of Ralston Purina's Northeast Georgia poultry operations. . . .Wayne Farms LLC, Oakwood, Ga., plans to scale back production by 6 percent due to rising feed costs.The company announced a similar 2-percent cutback in April.
