Citing feedback from its members and food processors, theFood Processing Suppliers Association(FPSA) McLean, Va., said that it will transition to biennial convention, starting in November 2011.
FPSA is co-locating its 2010 convention with the Institute of Food Technologists annual meeting, July 17-20, at Chicago's McCormick Place. The groups will not co-locate in 2011.
"The decision (to hold a biennial show in the future) was based on extensive market feedback from FPSA industry councils," notes Scott Scriven, FPSA chairman.
Scriven said exhibitors and attendees voiced common concerns.
"There are too many shows and a diminishing ROI for each show," he said.
FPSA will host its 2011 PROCESS EXPO Nov. 1-4 at McCormick Place. Officials say the event will host more than 450 exhibitors and cover more than 200,000 net square feet. The event also will address educational topics of food safety, automation and sustainability.
