Design, engineering and construction services supplierStellar, Jacksonville, Fla., said it completed a 260,000-square-foot expansion in Tulare, Calif., forUnited States Cold Storage(USCS). The Phase Three addition to USCS Tulare-North (one of two main buildings) includes 120,000 square feet of dry space and 140,000 square feet of refrigerated storage. The refrigerated storage includes a -20F freezer and two convertible freezers adjustable from -20F to +35F.
Located in California's Central Valley, USCS' two Tulare operations store ice cream, fruits, vegetables, frozen meals and other products. Officials say the expansion brings the facilities' combined capacity to about 19.5 million cubic feet with rack storage for 80,000 pallet positions.
