Hain Pure Protein Corp., Plainville, N.Y., said it is expanding its Plainville operation to "meet growing demand" for natural, antibiotic-free, vegetarian kosher poultry products. Hain will temporarily furlough about 90 employees until a new production line is installed and ready in February 2009. During this time, production of Plainville Farms turkeys will move to Hain Pure Protein's New Oxford, Pa., facility.
Hain Pure Protein is a joint venture between The Hain Celestial Group (50.1% interest), Melville, N.Y.  and Pegasus Capital Advisors L.P. (49.9% interest), New York.
