Campbell Soup Co., Camden, N.J., said it expects later this spring to complete a deal forEcce Panis Inc., an East Brunswick, N.J., supplier of par-baked frozen artisan breads and rolls to supermarket in-store bakeries. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Ecce Panis products are a great fit within the Pepperidge Farm portfolio and will help create new growth opportunities for our business," said Pat Callaghan, president for Campbell Soup's Pepperidge Farm subsidiary. "Ecce Panis is a well-run and profitable company with a strong management team, innovative baking facilities and products that are part of a large and growing market. We are excited to bring these great products to more people and expand our artisan offerings."
Ecce Panis has 115 employees and a 113,000-square-foot bakery. Officials said Campbell Soup will maintain Ecce Panis as a distinct brand within the Pepperidge Farm portfolio.
