LOGISTICS BRIEFS: PepsiCo's Quaker, Gatorade andTropicanabusiness units will start shipping product on plastic pooled pallets beginning April 1, according to a release from Orlando, Fla., pallet supplier Intelligent Global Pooling Systems (iGPS Company LLC). PepsiCo notified its customers of the move with a letter, which notes that "this change is addressing shipping platform quality concerns and reflects our desire to be responsible stewards of the environment (this pallet is 100 percent recyclable)." iGPS says the pallets are fullly edge rackable (2,800 lb. capacity)and 20 to 27 lbs. lighter than average wood pooled pallets. Tropicana's chilled beverage business will begin using the pallet on May 1, 2009. . . . IBEX TechnologiesInternational Ltd., an Aukland, N.Z., supplier of integrated freezing, chilling and sorting systems, changed its name toVeron Technologies Intl. Ltd. (Veron)effective immediately.
