Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market Inc., El Segundo, Calif., said new 40- to 45-ounce prepared meals -- introduced just last month -- already have become big sellers and are now the top six selling lines in a range of more than 110 products produced daily at the company's Riverside, Calif., commissary.

Officials said the top-selling variety is the family-sized Chicken and Broccoli Pasta Alfredo, followed by Chicken Teriyaki with Rice and Vegetables. Other strong sellers include the larger portioned Lasagna with Meat Sauce, Spaghetti with Turkey Meatballs, Chicken and Bacon Macaroni & Cheese, and Chicken Burritos with Green and Red Sauce.

"Customers told us they were looking for larger sizes to feed their families on a budget. We introduced larger portions of our very popular kitchen meals, so our customers can feed a family of four for only $8," said Simon Uwins, Fresh & Easy chief marketing officer.
