Eighteen food and beverage facility professionals at Stellar, a design, engineering, construction and mechanical services firm, have achieved LEED accreditation.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a system designed by the U.S. Green Building Council to certify and rate new facilities on conservation, energy reduction and sustainability. The LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) designation distinguishes building professionals who have the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED certification process. LEED APs have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System.

“Although we’ve been designing and building green facilities for the past few years, the LEED AP designation formalizes and recognizes our team’s expertise in the extensive LEED certification process,” said Allison Korman, Director of Public Relations for the Jacksonville, Fla.-based company. “We’re proud that such a large group within our Food & Beverage Facility Services division achieved this designation.”
