The Really Cool Food Company LLC, a Cambridge City, Ind., processor of refrigerated entrees, sides and salads, has merged withRenaissance Food Group LLC, a Sacramento, Calif., processor of Garden Highway fresh-cut fruit and vegetables. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Officials said Renaissance will lead sales and marketing for the combined companies and utilize a network of production facilities and distribution centers to offer retailers four refrigerated packaged brands: Garden Highway-Chef Essentials, Really Cool Foods, Garden Highway and Kitchen 1836.
"Retailers continue to demand a solution to fresh, high quality foods for their shoppers," said Jim Catchot, Renaissance Food Group president and CEO. "Now with the Really Cool Foods Company, we can significantly expand the menu of items offered. Our logistics and distribution channels provide retailers a wide choice of prepared foods within a short order cycle."
Really Cool Food has production facilities in Cambridge City and Syosset, N.Y. Renaissance has five production facilities nationwide.
