McCall Farms buys Glory Foods
Canned and frozen southern vegetable processor McCall Farms Inc., Effingham, S.C., purchased rival Glory Foods Inc., Columbus, Ohio, for an undisclosed amount, according to Business First of Columbus (Ohio).
Glory processes and distributes southern-style canned vegetables, beans and sides, frozen savory entrées and fresh-cut bagged vegetables. The company also markets seasoned cooking bases.
Glory Foods President Jacqueline Neal told Business First that the owners of the 21-year-old private business were ready to cash out and turned to McCall, which had served as the company’s contract packager for its first 10 years in business.
“Consumers won’t notice a difference,” she said.
