The InterFlex Group, Wilkesboro, N.C., said it purchased flexible food packaging supplier C&H Packaging Company Inc. for an undisclosed amount fromAppleton, a diverse specialty paper products company in Appleton, Wis.
Formerly part of Appleton's Performance Packaging Group, C&H, Merrill, Wis., supplies packaging, in part, for refrigerated dairy and meat products and frozen foods. Included in the deal is a C&H plant in Merrill.
"The company and its management team have an established reputation as technical and quality leaders in barrier film applications for several processed meat and snack food segments," said InterFlex officials. "The acquisition adds a third manufacturing facility to InterFlex's North American operations and provides scale and depth in technical services as well as in printing, laminating, coating and pouch-making activities. The combined entity will trade as InterFlex Group with its North American headquarters based in Wilkesboro, NC."
As part of the transaction, InterFlex said it will invest in additional eight and ten color printing, lamination and pouch-making capacity for the Merrill, Wis., facility.
