Energy reduction technology supplierPowerit Solutions, Seattle, said it appointedMatthew J. Schiltzas group CEO, responsible for international operations. Schiltz most recently was president and CEO of DocuSign. Concurrent with his arrival, Powerit said it secured an additional $5 million round of investor funding fromBlack Coral Capital, New York City.
“Sometimes the stars really do align,” said Powerit Chairman Claes Olsson. “This fresh infusion of capital -- coupled with Matt’s hiring -- will launch a new era. We have ambitious plans under way on several fronts, and now we have bolstered our resources and leadership expertise, better preparing us to enter into new partnerships and channels and move even more deeply into the industrial and commercial energy management sectors.”
Intermec, Inc., Everett, Wash., said it completed its $190 million purchase ofVocollect, Inc., a Pittsburgh, Pa., supplier of voice-centric mobile technologies. Officials said Joseph S. Pajer, Vocollect president, will report directly to Patrick J. Byrne, Intermec president and CEO. Vocollect will operate as a business unit of Intermec and will remain in Pittsburgh.
"This acquisition strengthens Intermec’s position as the leading provider of rugged mobile business solutions in the warehouse market,” said Byrne. “We are confident that the addition of Vocollect to our solutions portfolio will deliver great value for our customers, who are always looking to improve the accuracy, productivity and safety of warehouse operations and other strategic business systems.”
