Seafreeze / City Ice, Seattle, said it hired 20-year cold storage industry veteran Bonnie Geiseas vice president of business development. Geise previously held similar responsibilities at SCS Refrigerated Services, a competitor. A unit of Bay Grove Capital, Seafreeze / City Ice operates two cold storage facilities at the Port of Seattle. Geise reports to Seafreeze President Kim Suelzle.
MTC Logistics, Baltimore, said it hiredDawn Speakmanfor a newly created post at director of customer service. Officials said Speakman has 13 years of customer service experience. Her role will be to develop, implement and monitor standardized processes to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiencies, the company said. MTC operates four distribution centers strategically located with easy access to Interstate 95 and the ports of Baltimore, Wilmington and Philadelphia.
Richmond Cold Storage Company (RCS) LLC, Richmond, Va., said it recognized supply chain management software developerHighJump Software, Eden Prairie, Minn., as Richmond's 2010 "Quality Critical Supplier of the Year." RCS said its award recognizes the supplier who shares cost saving ideas, demonstrates quality customer service and provides honest feedback for continual improvement. An East Coast cold storage services company, RCS said it relies on HighJump warehouse management system technologies.
