Interstate Warehousing said it expects this May to complete a 90,000-square-foot addition to its Cincinnati (Hamilton), Ohio, cold storage warehouse. Officials said the operation, currently at 350,000 square feet, houses a large freight consolidation program and "the expansion is coming as a result of growth of multiple customers." Officials said the expansion will add 11,500 pallet positions and 19 dock doors. Cincinnati is one of eight Interstate locations.
Design-build services provider Primus Builders Inc., Woodstock, Ga., said it expects by late this year to complete a 72,000-sq.-ft. addition to Americold Logistics' third-party cold storage warehouse in Indianapolis. Primus said the project will add 20,000 pallet storage capability and an additional 25,000 square feet of office and dock space. The facility will offer convertible temperature storage to house products from -10F to +35F. The new facility also will feature a rack-supported high-rise, automated storage/retrieval system (AS/RS). Primus said it will partner with Viastore, whom Americold selected to perform the automated components.

Division President John Szurek said the new facility will allow U.S. Foodservice-Albuquerque to provide its more than 1,300 customers with about 40 percent more products. The expansion also will more than double the company’s current cold storage capacity and increase the number of shipping and receiving docks.
