Pacific Shellfish Co., Portland, Ore., said it purchasedCoast Seafoods Co., South Bend, Wash., for an undisclosed amount.
Officials said the deal includes Coast Seafoods' sales office of Bellevue Wash., Quilcene Hatchery of Quilcene Wash., and farming operations located in Willapa Bay, Wash., Grays Harbor, Wash., and Humbolt Bay, Calif. The deal also includes a 50 percent interest inKona Coast Shellfish, Kona, Hawaii, and Penn Cove Shellfishof Coupeville, Wash.
“We are extremely excited to partner with Coast Seafoods and gain from the history and experience they have in the oyster and clam industry,” says Pacific Shellfish owner and CEO Frank Dulcich. “Coast Seafoods has been a shellfish vendor partner with Pacific Seafood for a number of years. This transaction will strengthen and increase the offerings that we bring to the market place.”
Officials said Coast Seafoods President John Petrie and his management team will remain with the business.
