Members of theInternational Association for Cold Storage Construction(IACSC) electedJanet MaddenCharlesas the organization's 2011-2012 chairperson.
Charles is president and CEO ofEnvirotech Construction Corp., Brazil, Ind. Officials noted that she is the first woman to lead the association since its founding in 1978.
IACSC, Alexandria, Va., is perhaps the world's only organization dedicated to temperature-controlled design, construction, engineering, and maintenance. The group held officer elections in conjunction with an IACSC Conference & Expo earlier this month in Las Vegas.
Other new officers includeWade Hudson, Cold Storage Construction Services, as vice chairman;and Mark Barrett, Controlled Environment Structures Mansfield, as treasurer.
New directors-at-large members elected to serve three-year terms through 2014 are Scott Griffin (Griffco Design Build, Kennesaw, Ga.); Jeff Hedges (Dematic Corp., New Berlin, Wis.); Steve Mauro (Kingspan Insulated Panels, Modesto, Calif.); and Brad Johnson (MBCI, Houston). In addition, Past IACSC Chairman Charles Woolley (Coldroom Systems, Inc., Norcross, Ga.) was re-elected to the board of directors.
