Here's a new product with appeal to both students and school foodservice operators. New Pillsbury Mini Pancakes from General Mills Foodservice, Minneapolis, has baked-in flavors formulated for kid-appeal (Strawberry Splash, Maple Burst'n) complete with a whole grain formula that's equivalent to two servings of bread. No less important, General Mills gives this product no-mess, no-waste appeal in an easy place-and-bake format. Each 3.17-ounce pouch (with eight mini pancakes) is designed go from the freezer directly on to the baking tray. General Mills says these individually pouched offerings can help a school foodservice tray line move up to two times faster than operations with bulk pancakes and syrup.
