Think of it as a new twist on "double dipping." Smith Dairy Products Co., Orrville, Ohio, says its latest new product has multiple uses.
"This zippy new introduction is great to eat with tortilla or potato chips but our Chili con Queso dip has such a savory flavor and smooth consistency that it can be used like a condiment too," says Penny Baker, director of marketing.
To Baker's point, Smith Dairy says its new dip works well on baked or mashed potatoes, a condiment for sandwiches and burgers or as a substitute for tomato sauce on a Mexican themed pizza or pizza crust sticks.
Officials say the new offering contains a blend of real sour cream with cheddar cheese, jalapeno, garlic and onion flavoring. Distributed throughout the Midwest, the product is packed in 16-ounce containers with a suggested retail of $1.49 to $1.89.
