American Association of Port Authorities, Alexandria, Va.
Armando Duarte-Peláez, owner and president of Association Dupela- Duaga Ltda., C.I., a mining developer and freight transportation consultant and provider in Colombia, was elected chairman of the board for the 2012-13 term. Adolph Ojard, executive director for the Duluth Seaway Port Authority, was appointed U.S. delegation chair for the 2012-13 term. Tay Yoshitani, the Port of Seattle’s executive director, assumed the role of chair-elect, while Port of San Diego executive director Wayne Darbeau became the delegation’s new vice chairman.

Paperboard Packaging Council, Springfield, Mass.
Stephen Scherger, senior vice president of consumer packaging for Graphic Packaging International, was named chairman. Scherger spent 25 years with MeadWestvaco in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as president of beverage and consumer electronics, until joining Graphic Packaging International. Scherger has also been actively engaged with the PPC since 2007 as a member of both the board of directors and the executive committee.

U.S. Poultry and Egg Association, Tucker, Ga.
Rafael Rivera was appointed manager of food safety and production programs, responsible for guiding USPOULTRY’s food safety and production program by developing on-going programs addressing major regulatory and technical challenges facing poultry operations.

Sheetz, Inc., Altoona, Pa.
Joe Sheetz was promoted to president and CEO, Stan Sheetz will move into the chairman role and Steve Sheetz will fill the newly created position of family council chairman. These changes will take effect October 2013.

Cargill, Inc., Minneapolis
Sergio Rial, chief financial officer, will resign his post with the company effective end of November in order to return to his native Brazil for personal reasons. President and COO David MacLennan will serve as interim chief financial officer.

Christensen Farms & Feedlots, Inc., Sleepy Eye, Minn.
The pork producer announced several board and management changes in the wake of the tragic death of CEO Bob Christensen. Lynn Christensen was appointed chairman of the board, while Glenn Stolt was named interim CEO. In addition, Tim Loula of Swine Vet Center was named a new member of the board.

Ted Rich was named senior vice president of customer experience, responsible for taking customer relationships to a deeper level by serving as the “voice of the customer” within the Rich’s organization. He will spearhead advancement of the company’s “Rich Experience” strategy, engaging with customers to gain greater insight into Rich’s performance and to determine how the company can enhance the overall value it provides.

, president of North America, announced his resignation, effective Dec. 31. , to become president and CEO of Peet's Coffee & Tea, Inc., assuming the day-to-day oversight of the company's North American meetings operations, including its North American products, publishing and licensing businesses.

Steve Bobb was named executive vice president and CMO, succeeding John Lanigan, who will retire effective Jan. 15, 2013. Bobb will be responsible for sales, marketing, customer service, economic development and business unit activities.

Ron Denoo was named global director of research and market development, responsible for leading global efforts specifically for the MediTECH and Life Science Grade (LSG) products. Meanwhile, Kelly Edwards assumes the position of director of human resources for QEPP Americas. Edwards has served Quadrant in a number of key positions within the HR department over the past 27-plus years.

Robert Sabath and Richard Sherman were appointed discipline experts to the company’s supply chain management practice. In the mid-90s, Sabath and Sherman created Mercer Management Consulting, which has since evolved into Oliver Wyman.

Tyrone Foster was appointed process systems product manager, responsible for planning and managing activities that support the development and sales of the company’s Smart Shaker suite of vibratory conveyors, including Iso-Flo, Impulse and Horizon. Foster will also manage Key’s Turbo-Flo steam blancher/cooker/pasteurizer, Farmco sizers and graders, Hi-Flo air cleaners, Veg-Mix blending systems, and more.
