Canada-based Clearwater Seafoods, LP provides consumers and foodservice operators an easy-to-prepare seafood solution with the launch of its new value-added product—garlic cream Scallops & Sauce, an MSC-certified product that consists of garlic cream-enrobed scallops.
“Following the highly successful launch of bacon-wrapped scallops, we’re working diligently to innovate and develop new products that fit the needs of our foodservice and retail partners,” says Jeff Duffin, vice president, marketing. “By involving our customers in the innovation process, along with a focus on consumer research and insights, we’re able to deliver exciting new products like Scallops & Sauce.”
To create this innovative product, each Clearwater wild-caught and fresh-frozen scallop is enrobed in a premium garlic cream sauce. The end result is a perfectly-coated scallop that goes from frozen to finished in as little as six minutes. Just toss them in a pan, stir and serve, or alternatively, prepare them in the microwave. Pair Scallops & Sauce with pasta, risotto, chicken, steak, fish or even on their own with a salad on the side.
Clearwater garlic cream Scallops & Sauce come individually packed in an 8-ounce box for retail or 6-ounce portions for foodservice. They are available under the Clearwater brand or can be customized for private label. Scallops & Sauce are produced in a GFSI-accredited facility, and will roll out to North American grocery retailers and restaurants throughout 2013.
