Steak-umm Co. LLC, Reading, Pa., expanded its sandwich steak brand with Steak-umm Chicken Breast Sandwich Steaks, a line of frozen, ready-to-cook chicken slices.
The product comes packed in paper-thin portions that go from freezer to pan to plate in just two minutes, and can be used in soups, salads, stir-fries, casseroles and a wide variety of other dishes as well as sandwiches. Each one-slice serving contains 40 calories and 0.5 gram of fat with no trans-fat, saturated fat, dairy, eggs, wheat, barley, nuts, soy, garlic, casein, MSG or other allergens.
“As a Steak-umm product, this line extension not only provides instant brand recognition that will help drive sales, but also fills a void in the convenience market for consumers who don’t eat beef, want to vary their sliced steak consumption with another meat option or need to meet a mix of family eating habits,” says Sergei Szortyka, president. “The product’s low-calorie, low-fat, non-allergenic and versatility features should also help it gain market traction equivalent to or perhaps even exceeding our beef sandwich steaks.”
Each 9-ounce box of six sandwiches holds a suggested retail price of $4.99-5.99.
