EC Fans & Drives, a New Bedford, Mass.-based division of Epec Engineered Technologies, released electric motors specifically for the HVAC and refrigeration Epec bladesectors.

The ECplus Motor is designed to dramatically reduce direct energy consumption, allowing supermarkets to significantly reduce their environmental impact. The efficiency rate of these motors is in the order of 15%. This means that 85% of retailers’ energy consumption is transferred as waste heat into the environment and has to be removed or cooled down again by the refrigeration and air conditioning system, causing additional consumption of energy.
