SHRINK SEALER
PDC International introduced the 90C-ER Shrinksealer for the fast, continuous application of tamper-evident seals and shrink-sleeve neck labels. The 90C-ER seals up to 400 containers per minute with true 24/7 reliability, but can run as slowly as 50 cpm to synchronize with production requirements. This machine applies single and multi-layer PVC, PETG, PLA and OPS sleeves in gauges as thin as 40 micron. Plus, its splice-on-the-fly changeover feature allows a second film reel to be staged and spliced while operation continues at normal speed. When the current reel is spent, an end-of-reel sensor automatically clamps the material end and begins consuming from the accumulation festoon.

IMPROVED CASING METHOD FOR LARGE LIQUID BOTTLES
Hexacomb engineered an improved “casing” method for transporting larger-sized liquid bottles for juice applications. The new HexStackpackaging system features a single layer ofHexacombhoneycomb material, which is custom-die cut to accommodate the specific bottle neck. The pad is laid on top of a layer of bottles, with the closures and necks inserted into the die cuts. The die-cut orifice surrounds the bottle neck and rests on the shoulder, thereby immobilizing the container. A secondary process can also punch die-cut a wider circular channel under the hole to accommodate an optional carrying handle ring. For those bottle designs with a concave base, the slightly protruding closure above the die-cut orifice can nest into the base of the container above it, further stabilizing the load. Using this method, larger liquid bottles typically can be stacked three layers high for transport and retail display.

VFFS BAGGER WITH STAINLESS-STEEL DOORS
The X-Series vertical form-fill-seal bagger from Triangle Package Machinery is available in three levels of sanitation—stainless steel, stainless-steel washdown and USDA/3A models. What is said to be one of the cleanest bagger designs on the market, the X-Series was enhanced with newly-designed stainless-steel guard doors, which are said to be the only stainless doors on the market that feature rounded openings, offering quick and easy cleaning while still providing visibility of the bagging machine in operation. Polished frames reduce the possibility of microbiological contamination. And, the open design and drainage areas allow for complete sanitation.
