Cloverleaf Cold Storage, Sioux City, Iowa, concluded a construction project at its Napoleon, Ohio, processing facility.
A roof collapse from the early spring blizzard completely destroyed a loading dock that services the Farmers Produce facility and impaired the refrigeration room. The incident caused no injuries and the warehouse was back in operation within days, but did shut down boxing, tempering and processing operations.
In just over 90 days, the 8,000-square-foot dock was completely rebuilt. Operations commenced on June 2. Farmers Produce employees were kept on the payroll during the hiatus and a smooth start-up is anticipated.
During the construction process, the other three Farmers Produce processing facilities in Iowa, Missouri and North Carolina handled the volume normally run through the Ohio plant.
