Kingspan Insulated Panels, Deland, Fla., introduced the newly designed KS45FRP Partition panel for food processing and washdown environments.
The once popular application of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) has its challenges, mainly because the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) banned the use of field applied applications of FRP due to the inconsistent adhesion and voids behind the sheets, allowing moisture and microbial growth to proliferate. Kingspan addressed these issues by developing a fully factory-adhered FRP sheet to an insulated metal panel meeting the new CFIA and USDA requirements for applied finishes in a controlled environment.
The KS45FRP product is available in a full 45-inch width, and can be cut to length for full or partial height for use as complete wall panel or wainscoting. The FRP product is Class A .090” FM Rated material, meeting the code requirements for low flammability and smoke development.
