Omnitracs, LLC, Dallas, introduced its in-cab scanning application on the Mobile Computing Platform 50 (MCP50). Additionally, the critical event reporting (CER) applications on MCP50 now supports speeding alerts and additional third-party devices from Meritor On-Guard and Bendix Wingman that focus on collision mitigation and roll stability.
In-cab scanning helps fleets better streamline activities and improve productivity by allowing drivers to scan and transmit important documents, such as trip and mileage reports, timesheets and receipts from the cab of the truck. Additionally, fleets can increase efficiency with the ability to bill the customer faster and improve back-office productivity through integration to back office systems.
