Alfa Laval Inc., Richmond, Va., announced plans to consolidate its European manufacturing footprint of air heat exchangers for refrigeration applications to existing manufacturing sites in Italy, Poland and Finland. As a result, the facility in Groningen, the Netherlands, will close by September 2015, affecting about 90 employees.
“To remain competitive in Europe, we need to restructure our manufacturing of air heat exchangers,” says Lars Renström, president and CEO. “The air business is important to Alfa Laval, and we recently introduced two new product platforms.”
