Ozark Mountain Poultry (OMP), a vertically integrated poultry company based in Rogers, Ark., continues to expand in Arkansas by building a new feed mill in Magness, Ark., and purchasing the building next door to its Batesville, Ark., facility, which is a former ConAgra Foods plant. OMP plans to retrofit that building to accommodate a poultry processing line, including processing and harvesting. Target completion for both projects is scheduled for early 2016.
“Instead of adding on to our existing facility or having to build a new structure from scratch, the purchase of the building next door will allow us to complete our expansion with minimal disruption to our current processing,” says Ed Fryar, chief executive officer. “We’re proud to continue to build our business operations in Arkansas and deliver quality products to consumers around the country,” Fryar adds.
OMP produces premium quality chicken under the Forester Farmer’s Market brand for restaurants and grocery retailers nationwide.
