Daily’s Premium Meats, a Missoula, Mont.-based division of Seaboard Foods and Triumph Foods, announced plans to construct a new pork processing plant in St. Joseph, Mo., across the road from Triumph Foods’ fresh pork processing plant.
The $41.5 million plant will focus on producing sliced-to-order naturally hardwood smoked bacon and employ about 200 people. Site work is expected to begin this summer and operations starting May 2016.
“Since 1893, Daily’s has stood for the highest quality in premium meats, especially hardwood smoked bacon, and we’re proud to carry on that tradition with this new plant,” says Kelly Hattan, president. “As part of an integrated food system, we look forward to the opportunities the new plant will offer our customers, as well as being part of the St. Joseph community.”
