Klöckner Pentaplast Group, Gordonsville, Va., and Berry Plastics Group, Inc., Evansville, Ind., entered into a marketing alliance to offer innovative form-fill-seal packaging solutions on a global basis to the food industry.
Klöckner Pentaplast manufactures multiple types of forming films used to produce trays, while Berry Plastics manufactures non-forming lid stock films using various sealant chemistries.
“We are very excited to enter into this agreement with Klöckner Pentaplast,” says Greg Kughn, sales development director for Berry Plastics’ flexible packaging division. “By marketing our products together, we will serve as a single source for our customers and have the ability to offer a complete solution for some of the most demanding packaging.”
With nearly 100 years of combined experience, Klöckner Pentaplast and Berry Plastics can engineer specific solutions to meet customers’ performance criteria, including seal and peel, gas barrier, clarity, heat resistance and post-consumer recycled content.
“By forming an alliance to combine the skills and talents of our two companies, we can immediately offer the market an extensive portfolio of packaging solutions,” says Jeffrey Best, director of strategic business development for Klöckner Pentaplast. “The scale and capabilities of the two companies provide a great platform for creating value for customers and driving innovative packaging development and is another example where Klöckner Pentaplast is co-developing innovative products, solutions and business models to better serve our customers.”
