Tyson Fresh Meats, Inc., a Dakota Dunes, S.D.-based subsidiary of Tyson Foods, announced plans to add new lines for production of pork chops and roasts and hire 60 additional workers at its Council Bluffs, Iowa, plant.
“We’re excited to create more jobs in Council Bluffs,” says Doug Griffin, complex manager at the Council Bluffs facility. “We’re pleased to be a part of this community and fortunate to have a great workforce to support our plant operations.”
Hiring will begin immediately for general maintenance and labor, material handling and refrigeration, as well as various support positions in quality assurance.
The Council Bluffs plant produces packaged beef and pork cuts, including closely-trimmed steaks, chops, roasts and spareribs to retail customers throughout the region and nationally.
Tyson Foods acquired the Council Bluffs plant in 2001.
