Chicago-based JBT Corp. purchased certain assets of Novus X-Ray LLC, a Blue Bell, Pa., provider of advanced x-ray food inspection systems.

Novus X-ray technology will be integrated into JBT's protein and liquid foods system offerings, providing greater value to customers. The Novus X-ray system combines ease of use and low maintenance—similar to end-of-line metal detection—with the superior detection capability of x-rays.
