United States Cold Storage, Inc. (USCS), Voorhees, N.J., added 8.6 million cubic feet of warehouse and distribution space to a facility in McDonough, Ga., bringing the USCS total to 261 million cubic feet of warehouse space in 38 facilities across 13 states.
“This is a great opportunity for United States Cold Storage to expand our presence and offer increased multi-vendor consolidation opportunities in the Southeast market, says Dave Butterfield, regional vice president, Midwest. “The enthusiasm and support is overwhelming from both new and existing customers, as this is our first distribution center in the Atlanta market. We are very optimistic that this will be the beginning of a much larger need to add additional services in the near future.”
The facility, which is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area, features over 26,000 pallet positions, 33 truck doors, 4 rail door with service by Norfolk Southern and a secure 30 spot drop lot. The McDonough site also offers value-added services such as repack, specialized case picking and order assembly.
