Palmetto Processing Solutions, a division of Titan Farms, announced a formal collaboration with Wawona Frozen Foods, a Clovis, Calif.-based grower, processor and supplier of frozen fruit and fruit products, effective June 1.
The partnership makes Palmetto Processing Solutions the East Coast collaborator for Wawona, in where Wawona will be sharing over 50 years of experience and expertise in fruit processing.
“One of the aspects of our partnership with Wawona Frozen Foods that truly excites me is the similarity between our companies,” says Lori Anne Carr, president of Palmetto Processing Solutions. “Not only are Palmetto Processing Solutions and Wawona each rooted in family traditions, but we [also] all realize the intrinsic value of our emphasis on high food safety standards and in the significance we both place in deep-rooted relationships”
As Palmetto Processing Solutions grows over the coming months, so will the partnership. For example, Palmetto Processing Solutions will debut a retail poly-bagging line at its Ridge Spring, S.C., headquarters later this year, with plans to process both Wawona and private labeled products.
“The possibilities that can come from this partnership are endless,” says Bill Smittcamp, president and CEO of Wawona. “Palmetto Processing Solutions offers a wonderful logistical opportunity to us, while at the same time we provide our expertise and vast experience to them, allowing us to better serve our existing customer base.”
In February, Titan Farms announced its expansion into the fruit and vegetable processing landscape through a new processing facility that operates under the Palmetto Processing Solutions name.
