Premium Plant Services (PPS), Hibbing, Minn., formed Innovative Plant Solutions (IPS), a sister company created to meet the needs of ethanol, biodiesel and food processing plants throughout the Midwest.
Launched earlier this year, IPS developed a hybrid cleaning process that combines elements of wet and dry cleaning, resulting in a highly efficient process that requires less water and cleaning time than traditional methods. Through the combined use of customized tools and water reclamation technology, this hybrid process is said to eliminate up to half the water typically required for cleaning, according to Mark Parenteau, chief executive officer of both IPS and PPS.
IPS also offers traditional dry ice blasting, hydroblasting and industrial vacuuming services.
“We don’t want plant managers to have to contact multiple contractors to get the job done,” Parenteau says. “We want to be a solution for industrial customers no matter their needs, and we know that what they needed five years ago is not the same as what they need today. We also expect their needs five years from now will have changed, and we’re looking forward to growing along with them.”
Operations at IPS will be led by Steve Farris, vice president, whom Parenteau credits for developing the process that spurred the development and launch of the new company. IPS currently employs about 12 people between a corporate office in Hibbing and a service center in Estherville, Iowa.
