Walmart, Bentonville, Ark., celebrated the grand opening of its new refrigerated distribution center in Mebane, N.C.

The 450,000-square-foot facility – the fourth Walmart distribution center in North Carolina – is located at 2837 Senator Ralph Scott Parkway, and will distribute perishable food to Walmart stores in North Carolina and Virginia.

The center employs more than 550 associates, including transportation positions, and services more than 55 Walmart supercenters and neighborhood markets in the region.
