National Beef Packing Co., LLC, Kansas City, Mo., announced plans to increase capacity at its Dodge City, Kan., facility to handle and ship boxed beef products.

“Our customers increasingly require smaller box sizes and weights. This expansion will allow us
to deliver on this expanding need, and to do so more efficiently,” says Kris Ragan, vice president
and general manager.

The $30-plus million dollar project includes the addition of new box carousels, palletizers and
cranes, and will increase material handling and box storage space.

“Our company is committed to investing in projects that help us better serve customer needs for our high-quality beef products,” Regan says.

National Beef Dodge City employs approximately 2,900 employees and is said to be one of the highest volume beef processing facilities in the country. The expansion is scheduled to be completed by December 2017.
